Noojee is a town in the Gippsland region of Victoria, north of Warragul and east of Melbourne, in the Baw Baw local government area. At the 2016 census, Noojee and the surrounding area had a population of 157.

The iconic Noojee Trestle Bridge rises from the mountain ash forest like a scene from a storybook. This beautifully preserved timber rail bridge—one of the last of its kind in Victoria—spans 102 metres in length and towers 21 metres high. A must-see for nature lovers and history buffs alike, the bridge offers panoramic views and access to scenic walking trails.

Noojee Historical Railway Station Precinct.

Tucked into the scenic foothills of the Great Dividing Range lies the delightful Noojee railway station—a must-visit gem for history lovers, train enthusiasts, and anyone exploring the stunning Baw Baw region. Step back in time as you admire the beautifully restored 1950s J-class locomotive, a true nostalgia-inducing centerpiece. The station has been reimagined as the Noojee Heritage Gifts and Coffee Café, offering unique souvenirs, heartfelt gifts, and sweet treats in a cozy setting. While select historical displays still grace the café, you’ll also find captivating exhibits spread across the Platform and Goods Shed, along with the refreshed 1960s Louvre Van Carriage—all part of the precinct’s celebration of local timber and rail history.

There are two short but delightful walks in town. The Water Wheel walk along the banks of the Latrobe river and the Loch Valley Tramway walk featuring a pedestrian Swing Bridge over the Loch river.

Cradled in the emerald heart of West Gippsland, just a short journey northeast of Noojee, lies the enchanting Toorongo Falls Reserve—a sanctuary where two rivers converge and whisper through the forest. Here, Amphitheatre Falls and Toorongo Falls tumble gracefully over ancient stone, veiling the landscape in mist and mystery. The forest breathes with life—towering mountain ash and grey gum stretch skyward, while blackwood, manna gum, and the delicate Austral mulberry lend a richness to the canopy. Beneath their shelter, fernkind thrives: the necklace fern drapes delicately, soft tree ferns unfurl like green fountains, and the long fork-fern traces quiet trails beneath. Sugar gliders leap between branches, ringtails curl into leafy cradles, and the gentle rustle of brushtail possums blends with the murmurs of bats overhead.
