A gentle, scenic country escape featuring mountain views, mineral springs, waterfalls and a boutique winery.
About The Trip
Begin your day with a relaxing drive into Victoria’s spa country. Our first stop is a peaceful bush setting where guests enjoy complimentary morning tea — fresh coffee, tea and biscuits served outdoors in the crisp country air.
From here we travel to a rarely visited mountain summit overlooking the Blackwood Ranges. This lookout is one of the region’s hidden gems, offering sweeping views across forested ridgelines, deep valleys and untouched bushland.
Throughout the day we explore six unique mineral springs, each with its own natural flavour and mineral profile. Some are crisp and light, others earthy or effervescent — a fascinating tasting experience found only in this part of Victoria.
The journey continues with visits to two waterfalls, both set among tall forest and fern gullies. These short, easy walks offer cool air, gentle sounds of running water and excellent photo opportunities.
In the afternoon we begin our return to Melbourne, stopping at a local winery for a relaxed tasting. Enjoy cool‑climate wines, peaceful rural views and a chance to unwind before the final leg home.
This is a calm, scenic day designed for travellers who enjoy nature, gentle walks, fresh air and discovering places most visitors never see.
lunch
We'll stop at Daylesford, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch at your leisure. The town offers a wide range of choices — cosy cafés, bakeries, restaurants and local produce stores — or you’re welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer a relaxed picnic-style break.
What To Bring
Please come prepared for a full day outdoors in Victoria’s changing weather.
Warm clothing is recommended, and keep in mind that rain showers are possible. We supply umbrellas, though you may prefer to bring your own.
Wear suitable footwear, as some areas around the springs and waterfalls can be a little soggy underfoot.
We provide paper tasting cups for sampling the mineral springs, but you’re welcome to bring your own reusable cup if you prefer.
If you’d like to take home some of the mineral water, please bring empty bottles — each spring has its own unique flavour, and many guests enjoy filling a bottle or two to take with them.
What are Natural Mineral Springs?
Natural mineral water springs are underground water sources that have slowly travelled through ancient layers of rock for thousands of years, absorbing minerals along the way. Because this water has been naturally filtered and enriched over such long periods, it has no expiry date — it remains stable, clean and safe deep below the surface until it emerges at the spring.
Mineral spring water contains a unique mix of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and bicarbonates, each contributing to its flavour and potential health benefits. Many people enjoy mineral water for its naturally occurring electrolytes, gentle digestive support and refreshing taste.
These springs are tested regularly to ensure water quality, mineral composition and safety. Each spring has its own distinct flavour profile — some crisp, some earthy, some slightly effervescent — depending on the geology it has passed through.
This is different from ordinary spring water, which is usually younger, lighter in mineral content and sourced from more surface‑level aquifers. Mineral spring water is older, richer and shaped by the landscape over millennia.
Exploring these springs is a highlight of the tour, and tasting each one is a fun and fascinating experience.
